ART 201
In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Painting
Conservator and painter Corey D’Augustine demonstrates, brush in hand, how Pollock, Newman, Rothko, Martin, and Kusama actually made their paintings — then sends you to the studio to try the techniques yourself, with MoMA’s collection as the reference. Criticism is sharper when you know how the paint went on; ART 110 makes a good warm-up.
